When I read about the 200 Nigerian girls remain separated from their parents and communities, held against their will by a group of terrorists who oppose western-style education, it made me think about the violence that our children endure on a daily basis rather it be school shouting, and the poverty and despair of our young girls and boys here in the United States and abroad.
The other issues and trends in the early childhood field that I gained from exploring the website, is however, different when it comes to early childhood education, the lack of funding for high quality care seems to be the one thing that all countries have in common.
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteAs a nation, we are definately in a state of emergency when it comes to the safety and well-being of our children. So much devastation is going on around the world, it's difficult to know where to start or what to do first. Parents have so much more to worry about than ever before. We all must take on an active role to help repair our broken society, so that I children can have the freedom to laugh, play and be happy in any area of the world.

Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine the anxiety the parents are enduring, being that their daughters are still missing. School is suppose to be a safe place, but unfortunately it is not. There are so many negative actions that happen in schools. Society and lawmakers need to make changes to not only keep our children safe, but to provide opportunities for those children that are less unfortunate. Thanks for sharing the current issues in other countries.
I enjoyed reading your post. I don't understand why education is so limited in other countries. Here in the United States their are several public schools that children has a chance to enter. But I guess when education is limited you have to value it as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteSandra, Children today do go through a lot of violence and I hear about different kinds of violence that children go through almost every day. Just the other day they showed on TV where a mother and father beat their son and hit him in the head and the child died. I also heard on the news on Sunday that a 3 year old boy was in the park with his mother and father and a tree branch fell out of a tree and knocked him in the head and he died. But we have to remember that children are innocent little people that do not ask to be born. It is so sad how little innocent bodies are being used for violence.
